What we believe and stand for. What we believe and stand for.

Doctrinal Statement

Scripture:

We believe that the Bible is the infallible, inspired Word of God, written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit without error in the words of the original documents. (John 17:17. 2 Tim 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21)

God:

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each Person is equal in power and glory, existing in eternal community. God is Spirit, perfect in holiness, justice, wisdom and love. He created the world and everything in it out of nothing. (John 6:27, John 8:58, Acts 5:3-4, Deut. 6:4, John 4:24, Is. 6:3, Ps. 36:6, 1 John 4:8, Gen. 1)

Jesus:

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitution for sin, rose bodily from the dead on the third day and ascended into heaven. (Matt. 1:20-25, 1 Pet. 1:19, 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 Cor. 15:14, Acts 1:9)

Man:

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but due to the sin of Adam, the image is tarnished, and we incur both physical death and spiritual death (separation from God).   (Gen. 1:26, 2:17, Rom. 5:12)

Salvation:

Because God is holy, our sin separates us from Him.  We believe that sinners are declared righteous, forgiven, reconciled to God, made alive by the Holy Spirit, kept by Him and given eternal life only as a gift of God’s grace, received by faith alone in the substitutionary death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Is. 59:2, Rom. 3:21-26, John 1:12, 29, John 10:27-30, Phil. 3:9)

End times:

We believe that Jesus Christ will return to judge the living and the dead.  (Acts 1:11, Rev. 20:5-15)
